Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy - MK Widget Card.

Last updated: May 12, 2026. This policy describes how the MK Widget Card app collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. General Principles

MK Widget Card is designed to be privacy-first and local-first. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our users.

The app operates primarily by storing data directly on your device. We do not collect sensitive data on our servers unless necessary for specific functions such as push notifications.

2. Data You Provide

eCard Information: Name, title, email, phone number, social networks, and links that you actively enter to create a digital business card.

QR Data: Information contained in the QR codes you create or scan through the app.

3. Device Access Permissions

Camera: Used to scan QR codes of business cards from other users. We do not store images or videos from the camera other than the decoded QR code content.

Contacts: Allows you to save information from scanned eCards directly to your phone's contacts. The app only writes new information and does not read or upload your existing contacts to our servers.

Notifications: Used to send important updates or reminders. We use Expo Push Tokens to identify the device receiving notifications anonymously.

4. Storage and Syncing

Local Storage: All your personal information and eCards are stored securely on your device's memory (Using App Groups on iOS to share data between the App and Widget).

Widget Syncing: Data is shared internally between the main app and the home screen utility (Widget) to display information quickly without opening the app.

5. Third-Party Services

Expo: We use Expo's infrastructure to handle push notifications.

Google Analytics: The website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregated visits, page views, device/browser information, and traffic sources. Google may process this data according to its own policies.

App Store & Google Play: Downloads and payments (if any) are handled by Apple and Google platforms according to their own policies.

6. Data Security

We apply standard security measures to protect your data on the device. Since the data is on your machine, we encourage you to use the operating system's security features (such as FaceID, fingerprint, or device password).

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties.

7. Updates and Contact

This policy may be updated to reflect new features of the app. Any changes will be updated on this page.
